Human Subject Research Involving Children & Teens – An Advanced Look at The Current Regulatory Landscape

This session is designed with seasoned researchers in mind. Staff from Research Compliance Services (RCS) will highlight changes to the research landscape under the Revised Common Rule (US Federal Regulations governing conduct of human subject research) – including clinical trials, single IRB review, and exemptions. RCS staff will also touch on the impacts of newer sponsor requirements on the conduct of human subject research, the impact of the UO Protection of Minors Policy on research, and discuss how to find flexibility in the regulations to accomplish sensitive and challenging research with children and teens. The session will provide researchers with ample opportunity to ask questions about individual research projects.
