Twenty-one UO undergraduate students have been selected as inaugural recipients of the UROP Mini-grant award and the Humanities Undergraduate Research Fellowship. The Mini-grant award provides financial support to undergraduates conducting research, creative scholarship or work on an innovative project. The Humanities Undergraduate Research Fellowship provides students with a stipend to conduct research during the winter and spring terms under the guidance of a UO faculty mentor. Read more about the recipients and their research on the UROP website.
Applications for the Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI) Undergraduate Fellowship become available February 1, 2016. The VPRI Undergraduate Fellowship awards students a $5,000 stipend to conduct research, creative scholarship or complete work on an innovative project full-time during the summer. These fellowships are open to all UO undergraduate students who meet the eligibility criteria.
Presidential Undergraduate Research Scholars (PURS) program applications are now being accepted. The PURS program provides undergraduate students in the fields of chemistry, physics, geological sciences and mathematics with an opportunity to conduct research during the academic year under the guidance of a UO faculty mentor. The program emphasizes engaging students in research that are from populations underrepresented in these fields.
The Enhanced Research Skills Certificate Program (ERSCP) launched week two of this winter term with workshops going through February 10th. The program consists of a series of five workshops that provide instruction and training in research knowledge/skills that goes beyond what an undergraduate typically receives through the curriculum. Registration for the full series of five workshops required to receive the certificate is now closed. However, students that did not register may attend any single workshop that fits their interests. Learn more about the ERSCP workshops on the UROP website.
