Updates to Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects
Research Compliance Services (RCS) is busy updating its guidance materials, policies, and procedures in order to address new rules surrounding the protection of human research participants issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and adopted by 16 federal departments and agencies. It’s important to note the final rule updating the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects, also known as the Common Rule, under 45 CFR 46, Subpart A will not go into effect until January 19, 2018. RCS will keep the UO research community updated on these important changes and any developments as they occur through upcoming education and outreach efforts.
RCS offers workshops for students, faculty, and staff in a variety of topics surrounding research compliance. Upcoming topics include IRB Submission and Protocol Development and Research Involving Children and Teens. Visit the RCS website for details and registration. And please let RCS know if you have a special topic you would like to see offered.
RCS has weekly office hours on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm and Wednesdays from 2pm-4pm. Drop in to discuss the research compliance topic of your choice with one of our friendly administrators.
